Center Staff


Tom Carle – General Manager

Tom has been in Tucson for over 50 years, and has built a career- and a life – managing sports events, leagues, and facilities. He also – and don’t hold this against him! – is a long-time AIA basketball/volleyball referee and baseball/softball umpire. Chances are if you have been involved in youth sports in Tucson in the last 45 years, you have come across Tom. His job is to keep the Center running like clockwork. When you visit the Center, say hello to Tom, and should you need anything, he will take care of it for you.

Maria Moreno – Finance Manager

Maria is a native of the southwest and almost a native Tucsonan. Upon graduating from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business, Maria worked in the financial services industry for 13 years. Her entrepreneurial spirit, lead her to develop a print and design business, NUVO Print & Design, which offered print solutions to individuals and small businesses. Additionally, Maria has extensive experience as a bookkeeper and tax preparation specialist. Her skills and experience are a welcome addition to the administration of the Center.

Aaron Burnett – Facility Coordinator

Aaron has been working with Sporting Chance Center for almost four years! He loves his two dogs, Layla and Romeo. Fun fact he can recite all of Bohemian Rhapsody and he loves to have his coffee in the morning. He knows when to have fun and when to get things done! Aaron is passionate about sports at all age levels. Being a former high school athlete, he understands the importance of active engagement for the youth. Huge fan and full time student at the University of Arizona, he is pursuing a BS in Psychological Sciences. Aaron is always willing to go the extra mile for his coworkers and for our SCC customers which makes him such a great coordinator.

Ana Galaviz – Facility Coordinator

Ana has been working with Sporting Chance Center for over two years! She is a competitive and ambitiously bright personality, while also creating a fun working experience with her great music taste and sense of humor. She is a full time Business and Spanish student, passionate about the community, and always works hard at everything; so in short she’s super resilient! Her reliable character proves her to be one of our strongest leaders, and no doubt this is just the beginning for her. Being very personable, Ana gets along great with staff as well as all of our customers. She is constantly finding ways to help those around her, whether it be coworkers or customers, she always tries her best to make them feel welcome.

Jane Webster – Facility Coordinator

Jane has been working with Sporting Chance Center for over four years! She was born in Lakenheath, England. Her dad was in the United States Air Force and they moved here when she was two years old. She loves spending time with her crazy puppy Sunny. Currently in her last year at the U of A, studying family studies and human development. Jane plans to work with youth and families after graduation. Having played volleyball in high school, she loves working at the Center where volleyball is one of our main sports. With Jane being the coordinator that has worked here the longest, it really shows in her hard work and dedication to the Center.

Karla Gutierrez – Facility Coordinator

Karla has been working at Sporting Chance Center for over three years! Originally from Sonora, Mexico, she has lived in Tucson since she was two. She adores any animal she comes across and she really loves chocolate! Pursuing a career as a Graphic Designer, her creativity is helping the SCC in many ways, in person and online. In addition to design and creating art, she’s also a tech enthusiast! Fun fact, she built her own computer for productivity and gaming, sporting as many lights as it does performance! Aside from upgrading her own build, she helps others fix and upgrade their electronics as well. Known as the mother of the facility, Karla is always taking care of her coworkers and everyone around her, whenever they need her. If you see her sprinting around the Center, feel free to ask for anything and she will gladly do everything she can to help.

Leah Morales – Facility Coordinator

Leah has been working with Sporting Chance Center for over two years! She loves to volunteer and be involved in as many school opportunities as possible. Additionally, she was a sports medicine intern for two years. Leah is currently a freshman, pursuing a nursing degree at the University of Arizona. She’s an amazing team member, constantly taking care of each and every one of her staff members and customers. Her maturity and positive support helps keep us all on the ball, and makes our day better. Extending her helpful personality to customers, she always makes sure that each and every customer feels welcome and has everything they need so their experience here at the Center is the absolute best.
